Do you have previous Insurance experience? Are you familiar with the components of a typical insurance policy? If so we have an excellent opportunity for you!

Our client in the Insurance Industry is looking for an Underwriting Assistant to work a 4 month assignment in their downtown Toronto location. The successful candidates will work full time hours, begin ASAP, and be paid a rate of $23 per hour!

The main responsibility will be to support Underwriting in the timely processing of all New and Renewal Submission Activities. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Perform basic Underwriting support functions under the direction of an Underwriter ie. Gather underwriting information utilizing internal and external U/W tools
• Request and perform a preliminary review of Inspection reports
• Provide administrative service including all policy document issuance
• Complete Data entry documents for coding purposes, if required by the Insurer
• Handle non-complex endorsements, cancellations & renewals including accurate premium computation
• File maintenance including follow-up for all outstanding Underwriting Data
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications
• 1 - 2 years experience in an administrative or clerical support role, preferably in the general Insurance industry.
• Auto Insurance knowledge and experience would be an asset.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignments efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.
• Able to work harmoniously in a team environment and adaptable to change
• Excellent Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong oral & written communication and interpersonal skills
• Possess above average multi-tasking skills when working within tight timelines
• Bilingual (English/French) would be a definite asset.
