Our client, a leader in the Education industry is looking for a Web/mobile application developer to join their team for an initial 5 month contract

Position: Developer

As a member of the Integration & Innovation team, the incumbent will be responsible for complete development and support of the college website and ancillary access points/portals. This includes, but is not limited to, analysis, design, coding/development, implementation, documentation and on‐going
support of all web applications and systems used by the institution to deliver business services to varied constituents, including students, applicants, prospects, alumni, employees and the general public.

The incumbent will interact with IT functional teams to maintain and develop the website infrastructure and architecture, including integrations and feeds from relevant enterprise systems, and in accordance with proper quality, control and integrity standards.

Working closely with all departments in the college the incumbent will assist in the management of content and documents and as well as providing administrative support to online communities/collaboration. Demonstrated hands‐on experience developing web services/sites using modern development methodologies and toolsets is required.


Duration: August 06, 2018 to December 20, 2018

Duties and Responsibilities:
.  Listed in order of percentage‐ highest to lowest.

The incumbent manages web/portal projects by:

 Working with departments and area managers to help manage content/documents and related database information, data integration with existing and future College Academic/Administrative systems and incorporating marketing and other priority initiatives into the College web sites

 Ensuring that projects are completed on time and on budget within design standards

 Providing support for web site development projects within the College, including day‐to‐day guidance to the College staff and IT web design student staff to address any questions or issues regarding the college web sites or related web/portal development projects

 Consulting with various management entities, to define the business and process requirements for web/portal development
    
 Providing advice and guidance as to software and other provisions related to the web sites that are best suited to the needs of the College   

 Other responsibilities include:

 Providing input to a design team/group, to design the look and feel, structure standards, navigation, and data integration of new College web sites and services

 Supporting related implementation and maintenance strategies  Preparing design, specification, process, structure and other technical documentation

 Providing operational back‐up during absences

 collaborating with cross functional teams on the continued definition and development of the service oriented architecture and overall web services framework

Required Skills:
 Comprehensive web design and development background and experience. Mobile development experience is also required.

 Excellent programming capabilities in Java and Microsoft development environments.  
Knowledge of HTML5, ASP.NET MVC and SharePoint is a must.

 Demonstrated planning, organizational and project management skills.  Experience in managing projects of various sizes and scope.

 Excellent knowledge of portal, system integration and mobility technologies and methodologies

 Good understanding, but preferably practical experience, in Single Sign On (SSO) and Identity Management/Authentication (IDM), including AD and ADFS.

 Hands‐on, organized, team player, quick learner, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.

 Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

 Excellent understanding of Internet technologies and associated security implications.

 Excellent oral and written communications skills.
