Fortune 500 Financial Services company hiring a high-level Capital Accounting Analyst to join the team for year-end audit projects. The Senior Capital Accounting Analyst will be responsible for accounting for capital projects over internal-use software development, web-site development, property, plant & equipment, etc. They will be an integral team member within the Capital Accounting department and enterprise finance. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation as well as account reconciliations, year-end audit preparation, internal control compliance, and SOX.ResponsibilitiesPerform accounting functions for capital accounting.Collect necessary data, analyze and/or allocate costs on capital projects to ensure compliance to accounting policies and practices.Perform capital accounting month-end close accounting functions.Prepare journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis and prepare audit transaction support for the journal entries.Analyze and perform complex balance sheet reconciliations that involve multi-step processes and/or large amounts of data.
