The Construction Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project in the track discipline, in support of the relevant Delivery team. This role includes the planning and co-ordination with the different disciplines for the delivery of a large light rail scheme.The Construction Manager will have previous experience working in a similar role and been involved in P-way deliverables and development operations (Ballasted or Slab Track) and will have knowledge and working appreciation of all related enabling and delivery aspect including all multi-discipline interfaces. Key Responsibilities:Undertaking the role of Construction Manager for Track works on a large Light Rail project in the West Midlands, reporting to the Head of Track Delivery to deliver track projects in a safe & environmentally responsible manner. Undertaking the 4 week lookahead for the project; planning and controlling on site activities, ensuring the adequate resources are available (man power and co-ordination with engineering).Dealing with procurement of materials and plant in advance of construction to ensure the programme timescales are met.Complying and focused on Health and Safety regulations and Company Policy, ensuring construction and site safety (undertaking safety inspections, close calls…).
