About the company
This highly technology-driven business based in central Auckland creates innovative IOT / AI solutions. Progressing from a technology SME, this business is well established in the market and boasts an international customer base. They are now on the lookout for a DevOps Practice Lead to come on board and head up a small team of engineers and further help develop the technical capabilities of the business.
As the DevOps Practice Lead, you’ll head up a small team of engineers (2-3 people) to establish and deliver DevOps practices and a wide range of infrastructure and toolings to support the business’s engineering teams here in New Zealand and abroad. Reporting into the Head of Operations, you’ll work with the senior managers and stakeholders across the technology teams to provide and produce the vision for DevOps and Release Management practices and carryout technical leadership to define enterprise delivery patterns.
You will strive to provide the engineering teams with highly performant, state-of-the-art AWS centric environments, build systems and test automation infrastructure. This is a varied role in which you’ll combine strategic work with short term tactical fixes, contribute to product design meetings and extend the CI/CD capabilities.
Requirements:You'll bring significant expertise in DevOps, plus expert knowledge of AWSLeadership experience (line management and/or personal development of team members), in or out of a DevOps setting.Strong grasp of container (Kubernetes ideally) & automation toolingExperience with data management skills (Postgres / RDS would be advantageous)Any experience with Ruby on Rails would be ideal but not essentialHighly motivated and driven to excel, you will thrive in our fast growing, quickly changing environment.Must be open to mentoring and up skilling other team member.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
