An opening has arisen for a Regional Engagement, Attendance and Welfare Officer (EAWO) offering a chance to be a key part of changing the lives of children aged 11 to 16 at a leading Alternative Education School. You will support the schools within the allocated region to promote, secure and sustain positive engagement, welfare, and attendance using specialist interventions with the student and/or their families.
This will include working closely with the school staff to identify vulnerable students and implementing a bespoke package of support, utilising tools within Progress Schools, such as the SENCO and liaising closely with external agencies and teams around the child.

Specific Duties
Provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet our attendance targets
Promote and foster positive attitudes by students and their families towards education and ensuring that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities, particularly where there is persistent absenteeism
Make unsupervised home visits and attend meetings both at school and off site
Support the Head of School in attendance at statutory meetings
Ensure compliance and demonstrate excellent record keeping.
Work with the Head of School to create and maintain a vulnerable student list, ensuring actions ad interventions are in place rapidly
Support the school with strategies to promote the regular and punctual attendance of all students and assist with the implementation of agreed strategies
