Head of R2R – A fair-sized Shared Services Center is looking for its experienced Leader in the role of Financial Accounting Manager.

Based in Budapest, the Financial Accounting Manager will play an instrumental role in driving successful transition of accounting and reporting responsibilities from the sender to the local accounting teams in the Budapest SSC.

The incumbent will take responsibility for driving efficiency and quality by the implementation of standard process documentation and operating processes to ensure operational excellence, continuous improvement, cost reduction, high level accounting standards and accuracy on a monthly basis and comply with legal and statutory deadlines to the highest standard.

Active involvement across the broad scope of business decisions and processes affecting the sites will include the following:

- Actuals accounting: Review and interpretation of actual results, and identifying areas for action and improvement;
- Providing daily supervision of the financial accounting and oversight of the local accounting team: Active involvement and supervision over the financial aspects;
- Preparation, presentation and accountability over the Service Level Agreements with various sites;
- Supporting statutory and tax audits: Liaison with external tax authorities, auditors over the financial matters of the sites;
- Any ad hoc project which require finance involvement

- High degree of problem solving skills in terms of implementing appropriate solutions to complex technical and managerial business situations
- Analytical ability to prepare data to support a solution, applying sound judgement to problems, and to be able to explain it to senior management
- Ability to use multiple sources of data (people and systems), in an efficient and often innovative way
- A thorough understanding of the multiple sources of data available throughout both the business functions and through the job holder’s direct team
- High degree of management skills
- High level of people management skills to encourage the team to develop and adapt to ongoing business change, and a process of continuous improvement


- The role is critical to ensure that finance processes are optimized and are the most efficient basis possible to meet all reporting requirements and to meet appropriate deadlines.
- The role will develop processes that will ensure strong and appropriate controls are in place to safeguard company assets and to ensure a consistent reporting mechanism is established across all sites and locations.

- Relevant professional accounting qualification
- Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience
- Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements in more than 1 country
- Experience working closely with business management
- Knowledge and experience of major systems implementations
- Team management and supervisory experience
