job description

Job Responsibilities:

* Support process & facility start-up initiatives
* Assist with technology transfer of API processes
* Collaborate closely with Operations colleagues in the preparation of Master Batch Records
* Use technical knowledge in chemical engineering unit operations including reaction chemistry, hydrogenations, distillations, separations, crystallization, drying, milling and process safety to support GMT, Operations and Safety colleagues.
* Develop expertise using tools like DynoChem for data fitting, heat transfer characterization of plant reactors, mass transfer/hydrogenation modelling as well as modelling for solubility / crystallization process development, and reaction kinetics data fitting as required.
* Conduct laboratory experiments to generate technical data
* Based on needs, develop and introduce new chemical engineering techniques, methods and laboratory scale technologies to the laboratories.
* Collect and analyze technical data
* Serve on co-development teams and support transfer of new chemical entities
* Comply with all safety and quality policies and requirements

Qualifications:

* BS degree in chemistry, or chemical process engineering is required
* 3 to 5 years experience in a technical role in the API industry
* Experience with scale-up techniques for processes from laboratory to plant scale
* Familiarity with commercial scale equipment and processes
* Mastery of chemical engineering principles, practices and theories with pharmaceutical experience
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional and culturally diverse work environment
* Proven record of consistent performance
* Willingness to travel occasionally 10% Travel
