    If this sounds like you, look no further! We are currently looking for experienced learning support assistants to work with a challenging student, with ASD, in an "Outstanding" school in Brentwood. Ideally, you will have experience working with children who have autism previously and are not afraid to work with children who have challenging behaviour.

    About the school:

    • Graded "Outstanding" by Ofsted
    • A larger than usual SEN department
    • Fantastic support from the SENCO, teachers and other LSAs

    Responsibilities:
    If you would like to work as an LSA in Brentwood, you'll be asked to:

    • Support the pupil you are attached to with their behaviour
    • Work with the pupil on accepting support and being able to focus in class
    • Liaise with other members of staff in regards to how to best support the pupil and more
    • Support the pupil with their set work in and out of class
    • Supporting the pupils with their behaviour by actively using the school's behaviour management strategies to support and engage the pupils
    • Working alongside other teaching assistants, and the SENCO, to support the pupils
    • Running intervention sessions that are tailored to each child's needs from pre-planned materials
    • Being a trusted adult that the pupils can turn to

    Requirements:

    If you wanted to work as a teaching assistant in Brentwood, you will need to have:

    • Enthusiasm for the role and for working with children who have got special educational needs
    • Confidence
    • Drive to want to work within education and with children
    • Experience with autism spectrum disorders and working with children
    • Availability to work 5 days per week from 08:30am - 15:00
