We are looking for committed and reliable individuals who are ready to take on a new and exciting role for the academic year, within a classroom setting. You will be responsible for supporting students throughout college campuses within Huyton, who need assistance in their everyday lives at college due to having a variation of learning difficulties.
You will be supporting students who could be studying subjects from across the curriculum so having a good general understanding of this is important! We are looking for someone who has good availability and is looking for a long term role, who also has general knowledge of supporting young people with moderate learning difficulties.

Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant you will be required to do the following and more depending on the needs of the student:
... - Providing support to students in group based sessions under the direction of the Tutor
- Helping students to transition from educational life to working life
- Developing learner's English and Maths skills
- Having the ability to keep students on task and engaged
- Promoting independent learning with your students
- Working within the policies and procedures of the college, in partnership with other staff and teams
- Attending staff and review meetings where necessary
Requirements:
- Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English
- Maintain a professional and confidential approach at all times
- A Driving licence and your own vehicle
- A Desire to support and help students to reach their full potential
- Health and safety awareness
Desirable:
- Experience in supporting individuals with learning difficulties and mental health diagnoses (such as autism, ADHD)
- Flexible in supporting a variety of people with many different needs
- Ability to use your own initiative in challenging situations
- Be an empathetic person who can understand the needs of others
