Basic Function:

Responsible to corporate finance, taxation, treasury, statutory Group reporting, budgeting and accounting related activities.

Job Description

  • Oversee corporate financial department staff in day-to-day operations.
  • Responsible for the efforts and results of the financial department.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Group accounts in compliance with the Group and listing requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, Companies Act, and establish Group policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Monthly review of individual company and Group’s accounts, variance analysis and reporting.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual budgets and projects feasibility studies.
  • Oversee the development of financial accounting systems and developing functional competencies of the Finance Department
  • Liaise with bankers on financing requirements. Oversee treasury function, cash flow management, AP Function and ensure funds are available to meet payment obligations.
  • Oversee the credit control department, monitoring debt collection and regular review of monthly debtors ageing reports.
  • Attend Audit Committee and Board meetings to present financial performance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax managers, solicitors & other regulatory bodies on Company's interim & year-end audit, tax, legal & other licensing matters.
  • Address legal issues with legal department on agreements and litigation matters.
  • Support business decisions, proactively identify problem areas and provide solutions & help to improve overall business performance.

Desired Qualifications:

A high level of EXPERIENCE in Public Listed Company (medium to large).

  • Educational Background Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidate with an MBA in Finance and a MICPA, ACCA & CIMA qualifications.
  • Working Experience Minimum 20 years of relevant working experience within Finance/Commercial environment, with 10 years at management level capacity.
  • Experience gained in Big 4 audit firm.
  • Required Knowledge Knowledge of business operations, preferably within FMCG(Listed) sector.
