About the Role:

Maintaining high quality, accurate and timely management and financial reporting that is compliant with Group Policies and external/internal audit requirements. Also hold the role of operational management of a team and must demonstrate leadership and people/team management skills to a very high standard.

The Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for financial accounting and taxation functions in Malaysia under the direction of Chief Accounting Officer, Singapore & Malaysia
  • Lead the GL Reporting team.
  • Ensure that month-end and year-end closings are completed accurately, timely and in accordance with group and audit requirements.
  • Review monthly HFM and other Group reporting submission.
  • Review monthly tax and deferred tax computations.
  • Ensure that all Group reporting deadlines are adhered (monthly HFM, CSRGRI etc ).
  • Perform monthly review of Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss for Re:Sources Malaysia
  • Manage the financials of Re:Sources Malaysia under the direction of the Managing Director.
  • Assist Managing Director with budgets and forecasts for the company.
  • Respond to inquiries from Agencies and adhoc inconsistencies to reconciliations, take remedial actions or refer relevant personnel as appropriate
  • Work with team to handle all statutory audits, regulatory and tax reporting obligations by ensuring local requirement are met and in accordance with Group’s deadline (statutory audit and tax)
  • Ensure compliance with FMC audit requirement and key operating rules.
  • Liaise with agencies’ finance staff, company secretaries, tax agents and other third parties on related matters.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects relating to the function under the direction of the Managing Director and Chief Accounting Officer, Singapore & Malaysia
  • Build and maintain relationships across the business with key stakeholders in business units and other shared service offices.
  • Provide technical guidance on accounting and tax issues to the team and Agency Finance as and when required
  • Provide functional direction for team members on a day-to-day basis as appropriate.
