Purpose Statement: The main purpose of this position is to design, develop and implement activities that enable to secure optimal reimbursement and realize the maximum commercial potential of current and future products marketed in Japan, creating evidence that is reasonable in light of drug price standards and focused on economic aspects, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and related sections of Global/Intercon and further developing the reputation as a credible, research-based pharmaceutical organization that brings high value products to patients and stakeholders in Japan. Major Responsibilities: (1) Pricing ➢ Develop and execute market access strategies that appropriately reflects the value of products to remove barrier for patients to be able to access new products and already launched products, aligning with brand strategies and global market access strategies ➢ Provide input to Clinical Development, Marketing, and Global/Intercon from the early stage of development that will lead to more desirable drug prices ➢ Lead pricing and reimbursement submission dossier and lead the pricing and reimbursement negotiations with MHLW in collaboration with related internal functions and regional/global team ➢ Forecast medium- to long-term NHI prices of listed products for budget and strategic planning, develop contingency plan, and arguments to minimize the impact of re-pricing and leverage opportunities, in line with healthcare system change (2) Others ➢ Monitor and assess health insurance and pricing policy changes, and provide timely feedback to related functions for optimizing the strategy ➢ Expand network with pricing/HEOR experts in the industry for deepening insights, and contribute to industry association’s activity for improving pricing environment ➢ Establish good working relations with Global/Area Market Access

Essential Skills & Abilities:
⚫ Basic knowledge on medical care policies and systems, particularly medical service fees and the NHI drug price system
⚫ Experience in Pricing/Market Access. 4-5 year experience in Pricing is preferable
⚫ Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and the regulatory and access environment
⚫ Leadership, Strategic and Collaboration mindset of sharing skills and experiences proactively so that the best results can be learned as a team, and of providing necessary support beyond the framework of the team.
⚫ Agile thinking with flexible open mind
⚫ Logical thinking/writing to claim a strategy or position with the regulatory agency and key external stakeholders
⚫ Excellent communication in English; working knowledge in Japanese (More than 800 points of TOEIC or ability of communicating with Global team smoothly) Education/Experience Required:
⚫ At least 4-year of pricing experience in the pharmaceutical industry or Consulting company
⚫ Experience minimum 2 product NHI price negotiation with MHLW
⚫ Preferable: Undergraduate degree in science or pharmaceutical science Travel: Yes, but very limited
