SABIC Europe is seeking for a SAP ERP Specialist within the ICT department.

  • The SAP ERP specialist will primarily be responsible for and working in SAP maintenance in the area of HCM supporting the HCM business for the region Europe running in a global environment. HCM in Europe   has 4 main hubs in Geleen\Sittard, BoZ, Wilton and Gelsenkirchen Tasks take place therefore in a number of European countries and with the Global IT department, in particular with the Center of Excellence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The SAP team further support a number of power users in differing countries and for this a knowledge of both English and German is a prerequisite.
  • As there can be an overlap with other SAP modules, for example FiCo, MM, PP, Demand Chain Management – the ERP Specialist needs also a broad knowledge as well as in-depth knowledge in the area of HCM. Main tasks shall further include Operational Sap management, solve incidents, support CoE with in depth analysis, and support the power users with implementing, setting up test scenarios and testing of changes. On an operational level, he will advise the power user in standardizing the business processes. He will align with colleagues within his team and other functional teams and technical teams, in both Europe and KSA, and with the user organization. The ERP Specialist shall be given the opportunity to study and gather the knowledge of the company processes of SABIC.
  • The ERP Specialist is experienced in advising the organization and executing improvement assignments independently and therefore needs good communicational skills and acts customer oriented.
  • Reports hierarchically to Senior Manager ERP Services Europe


Main Functional activities on HCM:

  • Broad technical appreciation - including ALL key SAP functionality and technology
  • Work with HR data owners to fix data issues or to re-assign responsibilities
  • Outcome oriented - maximizing balance of effort vs benefit to achieve objectives
  • Design and implementation of full solutions ( Including testing and UAT Support)
  • Identify integration issues and develop solutions to these issues
  • Able to take an issue, then plan and deliver a solution using own initiative, with little guidance.
  • In depth knowledge of SAP-HCM modules (PA, PY, Time, OM, ESS/MSS)
  • Maintain process documentation for HR processes & tasks
  • Support the HR power users and work with KSA CoE to solve technical issues regarding Master Data and Data inconsistence.
  • Continuous improvement - Inquisitive - self teaching of relevant new business thinking and technology solutions


  • (Dutch) Professional Bachelor (HBO) degree, with an HCM/ICT background
  • Bright, ability to rapidly pick-up new technologies, propositions and business areas
  • In depth knowledge of SAP-HCM modules (for instance: PA, PY, Time, OM, ESS/MSS)
  • Strong working knowledge of basic domestic employment laws and regulations for NL, Germany and UK and the ability to learn new laws related to global operations
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral, and interpersonal, in Dutch/English and German
  • Strong reading skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information including all applicable compliance issues in relation to relevant HCM regulations.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and creative team player
  • Must be proactive and be able to function independently
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in times of stress
