About your new Company and Role:

Due to the growing workload, this multi-disciplinary company, with a friendly working environment and supportive teams, is seeking Graduate Structural Designer who will see you making a vital contribution to the Christchurch team.

You will be involved throughout the damaged building structural assessment and will be working on a range of projects, across the residential and commercial sectors. This will cover every type of building from single to multi-storey buildings, the earthquake damaged and historical buildings, high-end residential to offices, hotels, schools, industrials, warehouse, etc.

As a designer, you will be working on design, strengthening and solutions for clients, you will have extensive experience in this sector, and have the confidence to stand by your knowledge and experience.

What's more?

You will offer independent advice services, as well as operating as part of an overall solution which will comprise of technical support, design and solutions to clients, working closely with the other departments including quantity surveying and architectural services.

This consultancy take a practical approach to their projects and are looking for you to have the technical, practical approach and experience to successfully take this role on.

The ideal candidate requires:

  • A Bachelor or Masters level degree
  • Approximately 1-2 years of structural design experience
  • Up to date knowledge of AS/NZS standards – particularly seismic design
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • Excellent data analysis, modelling and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication and enjoy working in a team environment
  • A proven track record in structural engineering design across a variety of projects
  • A genuine desire to contribute to the professional development of junior engineers & technicians
  • An aspiration to better yourself professionally & build positive relationships in the industry
  • Good time-management
