Together with our client well-known company,  worldwide leading manufacturer of optical and digital precision technology, who provides innovative solutions for state-of-the-art medical systems, digital cameras as well as scientific solutions we are looking for General Ledger (GL) Senior Accountant who will join new SSC created in Wrocław.

your tasks

  • achieves performance objectives agreed with GL team lead
  • acts as a contact person for key internal and external stakeholders for operational topics
  • conducts ad-hoc reporting and has overall responsibility for audit files for business center activities
  • contributes to GL process improvement initiatives as required
  • contributes to the achievement of GL performance and quality standards as defined in relevant service level agreements (SLAs)
  • cooperates proactively with other work streams within the business center in overseeing the end-to-end process chain for all relevant GL processes
  • ensures compliance with GL policies, procedures and J-SOX controls through direction and communication with company facilities and corporate locations
  • maintains master data
  • monitors the correct preparation and calculation of internal recharging to other group companies
  • oversees the completion of domestic VAT and other indirect tax returns as required in line with regulatory and internal tax guidelines
  • performs calculation and posting of complex manual business transactions in accordance with local work instructions
  • performs other duties as agreed with GL team lead or as requested by key stakeholder
  • proposes, evaluates and implements process improvements in collaboration with GL team lead and manager
  • provides guidance and support to the GL accountant in the delivery of their responsibilities 
  • reconciles defined technical GL accounts
  • resolves queries relating to GL processes as specified by relevant SLAs and escalates them as needed 

responsibilities

  • qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
  • BSc/MSc in economics or business administration with major in accounting. Professional certification such as a CPA or a CMA is an advantage
  • typically 2-4 years experience in GL processes 
  • excellent business English (oral and written skills) across finance organizations
  • fluent or advanced communication skills (oral and written skills) in an additional country specific language (e.g. German, Spanish, French, Italian, Swedish etc.) is an advantage
  • experience in working within GL processes, or other core financial processes, within a complex, large volume environment
  • understanding and application of specific local GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory requirements (e.g., indirect taxation)
  • business center experience is an advantage
  • strong knowledge of MS Excel
  • good understanding of the VAT principles and regulations
  • good knowledge of SAP
  • ability to communicate with internal and external business center customers in an effective manner
