Together with our client well-known company,  worldwide leading manufacturer of optical and digital precision technology, who provides innovative solutions for state-of-the-art medical systems, digital cameras as well as scientific solutions we are looking for General Ledger (GL) Team Leader who will join new SSC created in Wrocław.

your tasks

  • acts as a main point of contact for regional GL accountants
  • assists with implementing initiatives for improving the efficiency and / or effectiveness of the GL transaction processing
  • contributes to the maintenance and updating of GL processes and procedures
  • delivers optimum service quality through regular contact with key stakeholders across the group 
  • ensures accuracy and completeness of GL data, such as journal documentation, b/s records and local work instructions
  • ensures team’s understanding of and compliance with agreed policies and procedures in delivery of services
  • ensures that processes are carried out in line with regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies
  • ensures timely and accurate processing of all GL transactions for assigned team, in accordance with performance and quality standards defined in relevant service level agreements (SLAs)
  • maintains master data
  • manages the team to achieve ‘close to reporting’ timetables
  • monitors, interprets and reports team key performance indicators
  • provides technical guidance and support to team members as required
  • resolves queries relating to GL as specified by SLAs and escalates them as appropriate
  • supports and develops the team through regular communication, planning, coaching and performance reviews 
  • supports internal and external audit requirements with regards to business center GL processes
  • supports the transition of local GL processes into the business center

responsibilities

  • qualified Accountant (ACCA or equivalent)
  • BSc/MSc in economics or business administration with major in accounting. Professional certification such as a CPA or a CMA is an advantage
  • typically 3 years experience in GL processes, including managerial roles
  • excellent business English and German (oral and written skills) across finance organizations
  • experience in working in a business center, within a complex, large volume environment
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • proven track record of people management and the ability to motivate team members
  • expierence in leading an accounting team
  • ability to work under time pressure
  • experience in knowledge transfer activity is an advantage
  • good understanding of GL finance processes and improvement levers
  • strong knowledge of SAP, scanning and workflow technology
