The Quality Function is responsible for assuring that customer requirements are understood and translated into robust processes which comply with legal and quality approval requirements. This is achieved by working with all employees to increase the company’s efficiency, effectiveness and profitability by identifying and facilitating opportunities for improvement.

your tasks

  • build relationships with the suppliers and customers to ensure smooth resolution of technical queries and processes
  • standardise processes within Quality and ensure regional compliance, to drive internal efficiency for team
  • to technically drive the implementation of customer delegation approvals to allow more autonomy for the business
  • to ensure customer processes are governed to eliminate potential product integrity risks to the business
  • to assist in trouble shooting and investigating if things go wrong
  • lead and develop the TEP team by coaching and mentoring to maximise their performance, to ensure activities deliver measurable performance benefits
  • establish and deploy process compliance&governance to reduce risk of supply chain failures
  • improve RFT supplier submission of FAIR’s, Source Change, Concessions and DAR’s
  • establish Key Performance Indicators for the technical team to ensure department performance exceeds business needs
  • travel on company business where necessary to ‘trouble shoot’ technical issues or support supplier engagement issues
  • participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance
  • comply with all relevant internal rules, policies and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual
  • undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are appropriate to the job

what we expect

  • higher education in mechanical, manufacturing or materials engineering
  • significant experience of Aerospace Standards and Product Qualification Standards
  • some experience of using advanced quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, PPAP, FAIR)
  • significant experience of working within a technical / manufacturing role within an aerospace environment
  • team management experience
  • ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • good verbal/written communication skills
  • good presentation skills
