Pricing & External Affairs, DirectorDirector of External Affairs & Pricing contributes directly to the business from a pricing perspective by maximizing company’s benefit through un-delayed and optimal NHI price setting for new drugs and by minimizing company’s losses due to down-ward price adjustment by price revisions and repricing, Director is also responsible for improving organizational alignment and colleague performance and nurturing a positive working environment where people feel energized and eager to drive innovation.ResponsibilitiesDevelop strategic NHI pricing strategies and gain endorsement on NHI pricing strategy and proposal of NHI price with Country President and TA Leads through Pricing CommitteeEnsure to develop a robust pricing dossier and strategically manage price negotiationsBuild strong alignment & partnership among Japan Pricing Core members (New Asset & Access Strategy team, New Asset Analysis team, DJ, Medical, Launch Excellence Team, Policy and Public Affairs, and the global PHI) members to ensure optimal price settingDevelop Pricing-related OP assumptions and obtain agreement from CLTsRefresh pricing assumptions and estimated prices for pipeline products and BD assets to reflect the latest competitive environmentMinimize the down-ward price adjustment by price revision/repricing through cross-functional collaborationBuild a high performing team by developing team members through coaching and generating optimal opportunities to accelerate their growthMaintain good relationship with “Policy Planning Division for Pharmaceutical Industry Promotion and Medical Information Management, MHLW” (former EAD) and act as a mediator between MHLW to flawlessly manage all product-related issues, as well as NHI pricing negotiationActively participate in trade association activities (FPMAJ, PhRMA, FIRM, etc.) to establish pro-innovative pricing framework

Desired Skill Set
Minimum 20 products experiences in NHI pricing is required and 5-8 years or more experience in NHI pricing is preferable
Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare system, deep knowledge of NHI pricing system and extensive experience in NHI pricing negotiation
Solid understanding of health policy & health system dynamics, access, pricing & reimbursement system
Excellent communication skills to interact with external/internal executive-level stakeholders
Innovative and creative strategic thinking with a strong problem-solving capability
Teamwork /networking & interpersonal skills, and negotiation skill
Advanced writing ability and excellent communication skills in Japanese, and communication skill in English
Agile thinking with flexible open mind
Active and positive communicator with a sense of inclusion
People management and coaching skills
