Adjust staffing schedules for real-time demand and long-term planning.• Utilize, build on and enhance department training and certification programs and quizzes, as well as ensure the employees understand and take part in the development path within the department.• Utilize, build on and enhance department training and certification programs and quizzes, as well as ensure the employees understand and take part in the development path within the department.• Work directly with Customer Service and Accounts to troubleshoot, remedy, and prevent quality issues.• Plan and delegate daily assignments to employees to ensure on-time product delivery.• Monitor attendance, vacation, and hours worked for employees.• Monitor systems to ensure the outgoing product meets quality standards.• Monitor performance of direct reports and provide prompt and objective coaching in accomplishing goals and job performance; write and conduct performance reviews; reward and discipline employees.• Work closely with employees to ensure proper training and cross-training is provided to employees on all processes and equipment, and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.• Ensure policies and procedures that are in place are being followed for production efficiency, safety, and compliance with company guidelines.• Ability to perform the duties and train all positions of the Quality Assurance department• Maintain strong working relationships with other departments within the lab.• Ensures compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations.• Analyzes and resolves work-related problems or assists employees in solving work-related problems.• Reviews and analyzes DVI, Audit, breakage, and key indicator reports determining the cause of quality or production issues.QualificationsCOMPETENCIESTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:• Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems on time. Respects diversity.Qualifications• Optical background required• 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Management or supervisory role• 5 years of experience in product quality and reliability in a manufacturing environment• Demonstrated understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and experience implementing SPC or similar controls.• Working knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques, quality assurance procedures, statistical analysis.• Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).• Standing, walking, reaching, and bending constantly throughout the day.• Low, moderate, and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)• Work produced is subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.• Near vision and sharp focus to adjust vision when doing close work.• Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers.
