    This is a contract position for a Technical Writer Senior for our client who is in the Broader Public Sector. Work location will be in Downtown Toronto.

    This position is Onsite. Any remote work will be completely at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.

    The Contract runs for 7 months with some possibility of renewal when it runs out.

    Hours per day will be 7.25

    Responsibilities
    Work with project team to ensure successful business adoptions is achieved for the Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) project. The resource will be responsible for:
    • • Research and incorporate current trends, delivery models and best practices into communications materials.
    • • Create monitoring and evaluation measurements for current and future communications strategies, activities and approaches.
    • • Co-ordinate with other ministry staff and other Government Mobile Communications Branch (GMCB) work streams to complete the deliverables.
    • • Provide documentation about the services that help staff do their job more efficiently, reducing the time needed and improving quality of service.
    • • Create or support creation of professional written material such as Request for Bids (RFB), Contracts, Service Requests, Plans and other project related artifacts.
    • • Create or support materials that help client have a positive experience while learning to use new services, through effective, easy-to-use training materials, online help, getting started guides, quick reference materials, or web-based training.
    • • Provide clear writings that clients can quickly understand and use.
    • • Produce materials that are consistent aids to learning, which staff or customers can refer to long after a training session is over.
    • • Some of the artifacts to support or create are:
    • • High-level configuration decision document
    • • Detailed configuration design document
    • • Request for Bids (RFB)
    • • Training material
    • • Stakeholder communications, Communications Strategies and Plans
    • • Plan, research, design and develop content and messaging to support the Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) project
    • • Develop communications to support the team, including identifying key messaging, audiences, schedules, and distribution methods of PSRN-related communications

    Qualifications
    Demonstrated experience creating content in an engineering, IT or technical environment
    Experience with tools/software for composing comprehensive documents, such as, MS-Office Suite, Adobe Framework or Adobe Acrobat.
    Experience with desktop publishing software and use of collaboration tools
    Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining writing style guides, document templates, process guides and other internal processes and standards.
    Education in Communications/Marketing and/or equivalent professional writing experience
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills
    Facilitation skills, Interpersonal and consultative skills,
    Knowledge and experience both in strategic and operational public sector governance models, experience managing complex, multi-unit, multi-stakeholder and multiple levels of public sector executive stakeholder project team, experience with public sector ITSM and ITIL processes and policies, ability and demonstrated experience developing mutually beneficial relationships with public sector entities.
    Strong experience of working on Public Safety Radio/telecom domain. Demonstrated experience of working with multiple stakeholders in a broader public sector (BPS) environment.
    Knowledge of Organizational Change Management principles and practices to contribute to material content for the program.
