    We currently have two great opportunities for Project Accountants based in Wellington CBD on a full-time permanent basis. This role will give you the opportunity to monitor the establishment, progress and completion of the Ministry’s diverse IT projects, partnering with a variety of stakeholders from Project Managers, to Senior Management and Strategic Finance. You will have a strong background in managing relationships across both financial and non-financial stakeholders, with a view to collaborate and utilise your technical experience to ensure comprehensive and effective outcomes for the Ministry’s finance function. Key Responsibilities: Support Project Managers through providing timely, quality and accurate financial advice.Build new projects in the Financial Management Information System (FMIS) while ensuring that budgets are accurately recorded and project costs align with accounting policies. Liaise with Project Managers and Management staff where necessary regarding findings when preparing monthly variance analysis.Produce financial reports for individual projects and overall capital expenditure, whilst analysing completed projects for capitalisation and closure. Support Management and Strategic Finance to provide exceptional information to the CFO and SLT through production of thorough financial reports and development of advice relating to financial policies and procedures. Engage in the development within systems to support capital planning and prioritisation processes with a view to roll out to stakeholders where appropriate.Raise Capabilities of Project Managers to meet the organisations financial requirements in relation to its key projects.
