Are you looking for a rewarding role ? Do you have experience in social care or looking after children ? Are you already a teacher ?
Then we have the perfect role for you.
We're really pleased to be working with and supporting a specialist School which are located in Hailsham, East Sussex
They are seeking to recruit a SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting children with special needs. This is a brand new special school and so you will be working within a purpose built new school building, across the age ranges as required. We are looking for staff who understand that due to the needs of our young people they require love, care and compassion.
You will be working as part of a team that are responsible for developing, improving and delivering exciting and innovative provisions for children who are not succeeding in mainstream education, and require a nurturing, positive approach in order to achieve the best possible outcomes. They are looking for devoted, resilient staff who are able to utilise therapeutically based strategies combined with a caring, understanding and nurturing approach to classroom and behaviour management. The successful candidates will be excellent practitioners with a commitment to fulfilling the needs of pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional or learning difficulties, and social communication difficulties. The ability to motivate pupils towards high achievement is essential. You may not have direct school experience, but may have spent time supporting children in the youth support or social care sector, or in another mentoring role. All are equally valuable in our school.
As a Special Needs teacher you will be asked to use your newly acquired skills in a flexible and adaptable way, across a range of subjects and age groups. The nature of the setting means that they are not structured like mainstream schools, and they have a mixture of secondary and primary trained staff. If you have trained around a specialist subject, they will use those skills to develop our strategic approach around that subject; if you have trained across a range of subjects, you will fit in equally as well. In return they can offer you the opportunity to set out and implement your vision for teaching, as well as developing many aspects of your special needs and leadership practice. They fully support working alongside their regional ECT support provider, but they also have a dedicated teacher development lead within their own Trust, and also have teaching staff in place who will provide strong development support as well.
