We are looking for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with a variety of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions, helping them flourish in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial part in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. Working alongside the class teacher, you'll help plan and deliver tailored learning activities that encourage independence and foster positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning and assessment of lessons and activities.
- Provide ongoing feedback on student progress and development.
- Monitor and report on individual student needs, ensuring alignment with school policies.
- Support behaviour management strategies tailored to individual students.
- Promote social, emotional, and personal growth of students.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport).
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
- Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Creative, adaptable, and able to personalise support based on student needs.
