Randstad Technologies is partnering with a Government Department to identify a strong Senior AWS DevOps Engineer for an initial 6 month engagement. This role will be responsible for establishing and operating the unit's platform and ensuring that all services are working smoothly. The key requirements will be platform reengineering, implementing service offerings, platform maintanence/administration and issue resolution to ensure best practice administration is embeeded and products are fit for purpose. Key accountabilities:Actively contribute to and guide innovation in DevOps practices and technologies to assist with the development and delivery of high-quality softwareCarry out and deliver efficient/repeatable platform engineering and application maintenance tasksAssist in changes to software engineering and operations with the adoption of new technologies Deliver technical consulting and subject matter expertise to projectsDeliver high level options, conceptual approaches, technical recommendations and estimates to support the transition of system designs into operationAssist in the development and maintenance of support strategies, operational standard procedures, performance strategies, robust configuration practices and automated processes to support informed decision makingProvide coaching and mentoring to other team members to achieve high levels of performance in meeting project/unit objectivesDraft timely, succinct reports and briefings for leaders, Executive Director and other senior managers; ensuring accurate records are maintained, and that responses to correspondence are timely and consistent with government and organisational protocolsTo be successful in this role you will have:Strong experience designing and building continuous delivery and integration pipelines, cloud insfrasture or cloud native experience Agile mindset and experience with ScrumStrong understanding of DevOps principles and practices that support best practice CI/CD, including tooling and technologies within the context of automation.Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code, immutable infrastructure pipelines and tooling to support management and orchestration of infrastructure, especially in cloud environments.Proven experience working with containers via Docker, Kubernetes etc.Strong understanding of version control systems such as git and best practice branching, merging and release strategies for large programs of work.Please note that candidates must be immediately available of have a MAXIMUM of 2 weeks notice.For consideration, please forward resumes to email@example.com by 12pm Monday 26th November 2020.At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
