Job Description: Assistant Manager OHS.Dept. Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)Reporting Officer - Plant Safety Head / In-charge Responsibilities -Development of OHS management system at Plant.Responsible for managing and providing oversight of the safety programMonitoring annual objectives & targets, KPIs. Performs the following functions/task:The primary role is to advise the site management team and Managers on all safety, health, and welfare matters to ensure the Company complies with its statutory obligations.Provides appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors.Assists management in the annual inspection of the workplace to assure safety and health condition for workers. Prepare appropriate notices for management to issue for abatement of any identified hazards.Reward & Recognition system for Workmen, Contractor & EmployeeAssists management and supervisors in investigating accidents and developing measures to prevent recurrences.Supports the Safety Management Information System by recording all accident reports in a timely, complete and accurate manner.consulting with workers (including staff, affiliates, and contractors):a)about issues or changes that affect their health or safetyb)during health and safety risk assessmentsc)when decisions are made about the measures to be taken to eliminate or control these risks when reviewing health and safety risk assessmentsd) To strive towards and perform actions to achieve ISO45001:2018 standards.Is responsible for a contribution towards the annual plant OHS budget in areas relating to his/her work role.Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Factories Act 1948 and other legislation relevant to the Companies business.Keep up to date with changes in legislation and appraise the Plant management team.Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organization.To recommend control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees.Review implementation of Corporate Standards.Active involvement in Process Safety Management system implementation & review.Participant in various National and International Award competitions.Preparation of Annual OHS training Matrix.Assisting HR / Learning & Development dept for Training Need Identification (TNI) for employee & workmenPreparation of Monthly, half-yearly, and Annual OHS plans.Conduct plant safety committee meetings and circulation of minutes of the meeting.Fire Hydrant and Smoke detector system inspection.Audit and monitoring of OHS system in new projects.Other tasks as assigned by the Corporate OHS team.
