key responsibilities
As Software Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will be the following:
- Lead internal and external developer teams in delivering software for CMS, HPS PowerCARD products, and DevOps activities
- Manage project deliveries for peripheral applications in the relevant business and DWH & BI applications
- Handle team logistics, including hiring, training, evaluations, and managing resources and contractors
- Participate in architectural design and represent the technical team in client meetings
- Ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery, providing oversight on project and program management
- Implement emerging technologies to innovate issuing processes and improve efficiency
- Align IT initiatives with business goals by collaborating with key stakeholders
- Provide guidance on software development methodologies and best practices
- Manage the IT budget and make strategic decisions on technology investments
- Maintain relationships with external vendors and select third-party solutions as needed
- Foster continuous learning and development within the IT team
- Communicate IT strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
experience
Extensive experience in software engineering leadership roles, preferably in financial industry
skills
- Proven leadership skills with experience overseeing large and diverse teams
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Strong analytical thinking
- Skilled in engaging with customers and stakeholders at all management levels
- Communication with both technical and business personnel
- High organizational acumen and interpersonal skills
- Capable of building quick rapport and establishing credibility
- Ability to craft and articulate an inspiring engineering vision
qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile/Kanban methodologies
- Knowledge of Issuing processing business will be considered as an asset
- Excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written
- Extensive experience in software engineering leadership roles, preferably in financial industry
- Proven track record of leading successful technological transitions and implementations
- Strong technical understanding and experience
