Support Practitioner
Locality: Edinburgh
Type: Full-time, Part-Time, Night shift
On any given day, the organisation may support:
- an older person with dementia to live independently in their own home.
- a dad of young children to reduce his risk of eviction by understanding his responsibilities as a tenant.
- a young family with respite care.
- someone leaving a long-term hospital stay
Salary: £20,531 - £21,763 (pro rata) per annum / £10.50 - £11.13 based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
- The Support Practitioner grade has a three-point salary scale.
- Point 1 (SP1: £20,531pa) £10.50 per hour is the default point for practitioners without a relevant qualification for registration
- Point 2 (SP2: £21,157pa) £10.82 per hour is for all qualified practitioners (What qualifications)
- Point 3 (SP3: £21,763pa) £11.13 per hour recognises qualified practitioners with at least four years' relevant experience.
- Practitioners move to the next salary point as soon as they are eligible and can enhance the above salary utilising the below:
- Time and a half payment for any time worked over 37.5 hours per week
- Sleepover payment £84.00 per sleepover
- On-call payment: £21.22 per on-call shift
Additional Benefits:
- 35 days' holiday per year (pro rata)

- Organisation will reimburse the SSSC fee for all new workers applying for SSSC registration
- Anti-social hours enhancement payment of up to £1042 when undertaking waking night shifts (from 11pm to 7am)
