Are you up for the challenge of working with a regional civil engineering contractor?

Randstad CPE currently have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Accounts Payable Assistant with experience in the civil engineering/construction industry (desirable) to get involved with a reputable contractor on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Glasgow.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* High volume invoice clearing

* Pro-actively manage and resolve queries from internal and external contacts in line with our service principles (see below)

* Process expenses to a tight deadline

* Manage payment runs in an accurate and timely manner

* Work closely with the commercial team to ensure a smooth and seamless service

* Develop close working relationships with internal customers to fully understand the business as well as establish a credible and effective network of contacts

* Demonstrate a keen interest in process and system improvements by both suggesting and working to deliver improved efficiency

* Attend departmental and supplier meetings as required

* Assist senior management and other finance team members as requested

Qualifications and Experience Essential:

* Proven experience of working within an accounts payable / purchase ledger department



* Strong system skills with a previous experience of mainstream accounting systems

Must have worked in a busy office environment

* Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

* Previous experience in a fast growing construction company
* Experience working with COINS

* Relationship management skills that enable you to work with people at all levels and across diverse nationalities

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to remain calm under pressure

* Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required
