Additional Learning Support Assistant

Set within the stunning location of Old Warden park, Shuttleworth College is a further education college which offers beautiful parkland, woodland and lakes making this a beautiful place to work. I am now recruiting for Learning Support Workers to support students with there studies who may have a range of needs including academic, social, emotional and physical.

Hours and days are flexible according to the student's needs / timetable and your availability.These roles would suit individuals looking for term time work and who have a passion for making a difference in young peoples lives.

A free fully enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be applied for due to the nature of the post.

You could be supporting in any of the following curriculum areas.



* Agriculture
* Animal Science
* Floristry
* Forestry
* English / Maths
* Horticulture & Gardening
* Horse Management
* Outdoor Adventure
* Health & Social Care

Main Responsibilities

Providing support to students in group based sessions under the direction of the tutor, developing learner's English and Maths skills.

Having the ability to keep students on task and engaged, whilst promoting independent learning with your students. Working within the policies and procedures of the college, in partnership with other staff and teams, attending staff and review meetings where necessary.

* Desire to support and help students to reach their potential

* Maintain a confident and professional approach at all times

Essential



* Successful applicants must be suitable to work with children and vulnerable adults
* Maths and English GCSE (grade C or above)

Desirable



* Experience in supporting people with: learning difficulties, disabilities, education or care
* Experience of the outdoors
