Arboricultural/ Tree Officer (2 positions available)

Are you looking to work closer to home? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Arboricultural Officer for a local authority in South West London.

Post: Arboricultural Officer

Rate: Circa £23 - £24 per hour

Temporary Contract

The main duties of the role are as followings;

* Using the Council's asset management system, Confirm Arboriculture, to undertake tree surveys and specify necessary works for issuing to the term contractor.
* Carrying out planting surveys to identify new opportunities throughout the borough's highways, parks and open spaces.
* To respond to customer enquiries, undertaking site meetings and site inspections in order to answer enquires; all within the corporate guidelines.
* To assess Section 211 Notifications and Tree Work Applications in order to ensure compliance with the Council's statutory obligations and policies with regard to trees.


* Minimum Level 3 Arboricultural Qualification.
* Experience (of at least 2 years) in the following areas:

* Using tree management software such as Confirm Arboriculture
* Undertaking tree surveys for risk management purposes, recording observations and making work recommendations
* Using customer relationship management systems to manage enquiries
* Experience of communication, being written, verbal and in person, with a wide range of stakeholders, from members of the public (in a 1 to 1 and group setting) to senior members of staff and Councillors
* Contract monitoring and liaison, including having taken action to address poor contractor performance resulting in an improved outcome
