Assistant Site Manager required in Kent.

Are you an Assistant Site Manager based in Kent? Are you an Assistant Site Manager with experience in a commercial or industrial setting? If so we could have the perfect Assistant Site Manager role for you.

Position: Assistant Site Manager

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Contract type: Freelance

Salary: £170-£190 per day (dependent upon experience)

Start date: December 2018

The company:

A not for profit organisation that is a major employer in the Kent region that has extensive assets in the area which include commercial, car showroom and garage, office, residential and retail properties. Due to the start of a recent project the client is looking to add an Assistant Site Manager to the team after a few weeks.

The role of Assistant Site Manager:

As part of the operations team you as an Assistant Site Manager will work closely with the Site Manager to help deliver the project on time.



* You will control and monitor the works package.
* Creating reports throughout the delivery of the project.
* Advise the Project Management team on contractor performance.
* Check the validity of contractors/workers safety qualifications at the point of induction.
* Identify and notify the teams of any situations arising that create exposure to risk.
* Perform inspections on projects throughout the day to monitor progress and ensure work is being delivered to design detail.
* Promote safe systems of working by checking subcontractor RAMS, identifying issues which could arise on projects and where possible deliver tool box talks when a training requirement is recognised.

About you:

To have a successful application you will need possess and be able to demonstrate the following:

Qualifications:



* CSCS Card, SMSTS and First Aid
* Asbestos Awareness and Working At Heights is desirable but not essential
* Qualification as construction tradesperson (Carpentry, Brickwork or MEP are particularly desirable). or
* Educated to HNC standard in Construction.

Experience:



* A minimum of 1-2 years experience in supervisory or management position for a main/principal contractor.
* Experience of working within an industrial/commercial project background
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of MS Project are desirable.
* Interpreting construction drawings and design detail.

Skill sets:



* Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
* Eye for detail.
* Ability to lead as and when appropriate and encourage other to maintain standards.
* Be able to take an active role during project review meetings.
* Organise the trades on site, relaying instructions from senior management.
* Able to communicate at all levels.
