On behalf of one of our long term Clients, we are recruiting for an Assistant Temporary Works coordinator/ Engineer to join their Head Office in North Hertfordshire.

Responsible to Technical Director, the Assistant Temporary Works Coordinator Temporary Works Engineer will ideally have a background in civil engineering. The candidate shall ideally have a degree in Civil Engineering and ideally have some experience of working on site

The main role will be managing the temporary works for the company including undertaking or checking of designs. The candidate should have a civil engineering background so that they may provide technical advice to the in-house design and build team on civil and geotechnical matters. You would also get the opportunity gain experience working on tenders.

On top of your basic salary, you will receive a company car or car allowance, private healthcare and enrolment into the company's pension scheme.

Primary responsibilities

* Implementing current Temporary Works (TW) procedures

* Manage amendments/changes to TW requirements and provide advice on typical TW items such as access, scaffolding and cranage

* Undertaking designs in-house or checking sub-contractor designs.

* Liaising with the design and build team to provide technical advice and knowledge to other civil engineering matters.

* Ensure site managers acting as Temporary Works Coordinators are suitably trained and receive the correct advice in order for them to undertake their role in accordance with procedures

* Monitor each project's TW process through targeted audits.


* BEng Civil Engineering or be a chartered Civil / Structural Engineer

* Have good knowledge of temporary works design, engineering and industry best practice
* Have previous experience of leading technical aspects of work winning bids in a timely manner
* Able to undertake Structural Engineering /geotechnical calculations
