One of the most famous colleges in London is currently going through some major moves and refurbishments at their Central London campus.

They are looking to appoint a CAD Technician to assist the space management team in maintaining their customer-focused approach to space planning and management.

The core tasks will include surveying, CAD drafting and general support for the Space Manager and Space Planners.

The role will initially be recruited on a years fixed term contract and will assist effective, timely and quality driven space planning support across the whole college.

This is an ideal role for someone with excellent technical CAD skills in other fields but is looking for experience of working within a space planning team.

The main duties of the role are as follows:

* Assist with CAD drafting, surveying, record keeping etc.
* Assist the space manager with the maintenance and distribution of CAFM data.
* Assist with room and furniture/equipment surveys.
* Prepare/edit CAD layouts under the direction of the Space planners.
* Assist the Space Manager with the maintenance of space data with the Planon CAFM database.
* Reprocess project drawings into master drawing format including re-layering, replacing standard blocks, removing superfluous elements, etc
* Output Planon data and drawings for distribution and /or analysis.
* Other administrative duties as required such as project file organisation etc.

Applicants for the role must be able to demonstrate the following:

* Recognised CAD qualification (ideally but not essential)
* Good understanding of space planning principles
* High level of AutoCAD proficiency
* Experience working with a large and complex estate
* Experience working in a space management team in a large organisation
* Good team player
* Good communication skills
