Commercial Assistant

Are you an experienced Commercial Assistant? Wanting to progress your career? Have a good understanding of the construction industry? Wanting to work for a company who cherish their employees?


* Process contract and variation sub-contract orders on Agresso.
* Process stage and variation payments on Agresso.
* Process purchase orders on Agresso - as and when required by surveyors.
* Liaise with sub-contractors by phone, e-mail and in writing regarding payment applications.
* Collating VAT Invoices for payments.
* Check all valuations prior to payment run to make sure VAT has been coded correctly.
* Process the subcontract payment release as per the subcontract payment run timetable.
* Liaise with finance regarding subcontract payments making sure we have passed over all correct information.
* Filing processed payments on the S drive then send to archive with Box it.
* Deal with payment query enquiries.
* Obtain a monthly vat report from finance & chase VAT invoices for any payments coded to X1.
* Run the Technical & Commercial upload of costs in Agresso on the 4th of every month.
* Chasing subcontractors when insurance or health and safety documents have expired.
* Assist finance with internal/external audits.
* Complete quarterly & annual timber audits with information provided by the sustainability department.
* Carry out other clerical duties.


* Strong office administration experience, minimum 2 years
* Experience processing invoices for payment, VAT payments and reconciliations Excel, Outlook, PDF
* Experience within a Commercial or Procurement department would be highly desirable
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Excellent telephone manner
* Pro-active individual
* A key team player
* Strong organisation skills
* Able to prioritise fluctuating workloads
* Driven to deliver to tight deadlines

* Well organised, diplomatic, proactive, assertive and well-disciplined
* Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
* A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
