Be aware of any positive news stories that are beneficial to promote on the organisation's behalf.

Update and maintain contact lists for all local and regional press outlets and contacts for specialist, trade and national press as appropriate, accessible by the Corporate Communications team and key staff as appropriate.

Embrace, identify and exploit new technologies and advances in the media and communication industry, actively encouraging the use of the latest technological advances that will benefit the organisation, including social media. Assist in all forms of communications, including public and internal consultations and engagement in a measurable manner.

Provide direction and briefing to the 'creative pool' of external talent (contractors, work placements, work experience placements, students and other opportunities including crowd-sourcing projects) ensuring any projects are understood and delivered to the requirements of the team.

Gain quotations, in compliance with company financial regulations, for any services required to support the Corporate Communications function and ensure all services are undertaken in line with instructions to the required quality standard and ensuring value for money.

Support the Corporate Communications Manager in strategies for external and internal communications, including major corporate projects, consultations and promotions, and their subsequent implementation and outcomes.
