Job Title: Night Shift Concierge - £23k
Location: Kensington
Reports to: Estate Manager

Hours: 7pm to 7am, two days on two days off (followed by alternate long weekends on and off)

Purpose:
To man the reception desk during the hours of 7pm and 7am, supporting the daily management of the development and providing a range of professional concierge services to all residents and visitors.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Working in a team of two the following duties will be carried out, however the list is not exhaustive as there are numerous other tasks which may arise from time to time:
1. You and your team member are responsible for ensuring that the reception desk is covered throughout your shift.
2. Control parking in all areas of the estate at all times. Police and enforce all development polices and procedures ensuring standards are maintained and residents enjoyment is maximised.
3. Welcome and assist all residents, guests and visitors. Open doors and call lifts for residents and guests on entering and leaving reception and the other buildings when possible.
4. Ensure that you are always courteous, polite and positive to residents.
5. Maintain all records and log books held at reception ensuring all activity is recorded for future reference. To include deliveries, key movements and all general occurrences.
6. Provide a visual security presence whilst on the estate. Manage and monitor the CCTV system and all entry and exit points to ensure the security of the grounds and development at all times. Carry out regular patrols to ensure that all gates and external doors are kept closed and that locks are in good repair and to investigate and report suspicious occurrences to the Estate Manager.
7. Monitor all persons within the development, ensuring that the resident's security and privacy are protected at all times.
8. Answer the telephone and internal intercom, log all messages and deal with all general enquiries.
9. Ensure that the common parts of the building are kept clear of obstructions at all times.
10. Be familiar with all reporting and logging procedures at the building. Report any damage or malfunction of any plant to the Estate Manager and Engineer.
11. Follow all health and safety procedures laid down in the staff handbook in recording and reporting incidents/accidents.
12. Whilst completing regular site patrols log and report any incidents of disrepair immediately to the Estate Manager and Engineer. To include all building defects, plumbing, heating and lighting defects during normal working hours. Where such defects are considered an emergency they should be reported immediately to the Estate Manager.
13. Ensure all contractors and service personnel in attendance at the building are properly signed in and out and issued with the relevant visitors permit.
14. Ensure that all keys held at reception are kept securely and logged in and out in accordance with management procedures.
15. During your shift you will be responsible for maintaining the front desk in a clean and orderly condition and collect any litter from the garden square.
16. Individual resident's newspapers are to be delivered every morning as received into reception.
17. Monitor alarm systems at reception and follow the emergency procedures as laid out in the emergency protocol file.
18. Monitor rubbish levels in both general waste and recycling bins and rotate bins as required. Ensure that the bins are taken out for collection on the appropriate days.
19. Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Estate Manager and or Managing Agents.
20. To uphold the good name of Thornwood Gardens, its residents and management company at all times.

General
Whilst on duty you should be well groomed and wearing a navy blue suit, white shirt with matching tie and black shoes.
You should refrain from smoking, swearing or shouting, being under the influence of alcohol, behaving unsociably, watching television, sleeping, eating and congregating with others, at any time whilst you are on duty.
The concierge staff should be particularly mindful to give assistance to the residents. The security of the buildings and safety of the residents is of utmost importance.
The concierge staff are expected to be professional and courteous to all residents, visitors and contractors and under no circumstances to be rude even when he/she may consider there has been provocation. In such circumstances the incident should be reported to the Estate Manager in writing.
