Randstad are looking for a Contracts Manager for a leading Surfacing & Highways Maintenance contractor based in the East Midlands, if you're interested in working for a contractor with a rich history in surfacing please get in touch.

Job Description:

This long established business has an excellent reputation for providing reliable, high quality services to private and public sector customers and is entering a new and exciting phase of development.

You will be responsible for the delivery of a new framework in the East Midlands with an annual value of between £5 - £9m.

The Role:

* Overall responsibility for short/medium term planning and organisation of all resources.
* Ensuring that services are carried out to quality standards and in keeping with Client KPI's
* Ensuring that costs are controlled in line with the budget
* Managing all aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace and liaising with Local Authority managers.
* Play a lead role in growing the business by identifying opportunities to provide additional and new services
* Building and maintaining positive relations with the client, ensuring good communication and formal reporting as required to the Executive Team
* Attending internal and external meetings.

The Person:

* Proven skills in managing Highways resurfacing, Asphalt projects.
* Able to provide sound leadership to a team of managers/supervisors to provide high standards of service
* Previous experience of budget preparation and control
* Excellent 'hands-on organisation skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
* Commercially astute
* Able to deal professionally and credibly with the general public and with senior local authority officers.
