Contracts Manager- Residential Developer

Are you a highly ambitious Contracts Manager looking for a new start with a company that can offer a healthy pipeline of work with huge potential to grow and develop?

My client, a privately owned, award winning developer with over 50 years experience is looking for a Contracts Manager to join the growing business. Reporting into a Construction Director, you will be responsible for around six live jobs in the Surrey, Sussex and South East area based out of a Surrey Head Office.

The individuals will be an integral part of the business to help deliver the projects from inception to completion.

Experience



* Practical working knowledge of house building and relevant experience as a Contracts Manager



* Successfully managed prestige developments of 150 units from start to finish



* Successfully managed a wide range of residential developments including traditional new build, multi-storey and refurbishment.



* Experience of working to "best practice" or the 'very best in the industry'

Knowledge/Qualifications



* Qualification - either construction related degree or relevant NVQ Level 5/6



* CSCS card - Black (Contracts Manager)



* CITB 5 day Site Managers Safety Training Scheme



* First aid



* Working knowledge of Building Regulations



* Working knowledge and appreciation of NHBC Standards



* Working knowledge relevant health and safety legislation



* Good understanding of commercial matters and financial performance

Skills



* Accurate pre-planning of site activities to produce a build programme



* Good communication, negotiation, motivation and problem-solving skills



* Manage own and others time and resources effectively



* A good team worker - works with internal and external providers and builds and maintains good working relationships



* Carries out recruitment and handles disciplinary, grievance and redundancy matters in a professional and competent manner



* Presents a professional and positive image of company, department and self



* Has basic IT literacy and can use email, intranet and Microsoft office



* Ensure quality of sites for an NHBC Pride in Job Award nomination



* Chairing and controlling meetings



* Identification of training and development needs
