Are you an experienced Civil Engineer looking for an exciting new project? If so, I have a permanent opportunity. A Civil Engineer role has landed in Huntingdon.

* Location - Huntingdon
* Contract Type - Permanent
* Start Date - ASAP
* Salary - £40,000 - £42,000 + Competitive Package

The Role

* To prepare designs, contract documents, specifications, drawings, risk and environmental assessments which are to be carried out by contract.
* To design and prepare specification for maintenance work
* To provide technical assistance and/or advice on matters relating to civil engineering
* From time to time to undertake structural design and/or assessments, calculations and reviews
* To provide estimates and feasibility studies for proposed new schemes and alterations to existing structures
* To ensure that site records are maintained to enable works to be measured and evaluated with the assistance of inspecting staff


* BSc/BEng Civil Engineering
* Incorporated or Chartered Status with the ICE or equivalent, or by exception able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience and competence

About you

* Minimum 5 years post graduate civil engineer expereince
* Demonstrable experience of; civil engineering design and thorough understanding of the design process. Specifically this shall include structural design, assessments, calculations and reports/reviews
* Managing medium to high complex civil engineering design
* Managing Consultants and Contractors managing Risk and Change Control
* Responsibility from the construction phase of civil engineering projects
* A thorough understanding of Procurement of both services and construction works and extensive experience of undertaking of the 'Client's role' under such contracts
* Cooperate and comply with Company Health, Safety and Environmental policy and procedures. Have regard for own safety, and that of other employees and visitors to the
* Act as a role model to all members of the department
* Good user skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
* A demonstrable understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety Legislation

Desirable skills

* Competent in use of AutoCAD
* Competent in other civil engineering design software
