Development Manager- Essex

My client, a leading developer with over 50 years experience is looking for a Development Manager to join a division with a healthy pipeline or work.

The sites, within Essex and Suffolk are easily accessible via the nearby motorways and public transport and within walking distance to the local amenities with the head office Essex based.

Key Responsibilities

* Working closely with the Planning & Design Department to ensure targets are met
* Manage timely production of all packs required for Project Committee, Exchange and Operational Commencement and that all information is fully checked for accuracy, grammar, and completeness with all risks identified and assessed. Production of packs should be managed in line with business requirements.
* Secure the introduction of sites to the Company, through the forming and maintenance of close relationships with Public Bodies, (English Partnership, RDAs, Local Authorities) Agents and other persons associated with development land allocation, planning and disposal.
* Identify and generate other commercially viable opportunities that may be off the market i.e. change of uses and land assemblies.
* Plan, optimise and financially evaluate sites through the carrying out of initial valuations and the securing of planning research, physical and technical site appraisals. Coordinating the project teams to ensure maximum commercial advantage and viability.
* Formulate site values by determining the optimum dwelling mix, layout, configuration and purchase terms in line with marketing input and effectively manage and instruct the Consultant team and internal staff to deliver the optimum and most viable scheme.

* Management experience as part of a Development team, working for a new homes Developer
* Extensive experience and knowledge of the residential market
* Strong network and connections with Agents, Land owners and Consultants
* Experience of developing both greenfield and brownfield sites
* Able to manage complex projects through the planning stage
* Superb people management skills
* Driven, ambitious and a natural leader
* Thrives working under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines
* Excellent time management skills
* Strong communication skills

* IT literate- well versed in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Asta Power Project and MS Project
