Electrical Design Engineer required on a permanent basis to join an industry leading engineering and manufacturing business.

As the Electrical Design Engineer for a product group you will report to the Group Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving forward the introduction of new and existing products. You will represent the company as the expert in the specific product group with a deep knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the products including design, development, technology and applications. You will resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage the engineering change process to meet customer expectations.

Key responsibilitie



* Component selection and integration
* Design of electrical schematics to achieve both vehicle functionality and to meet legislative requirements
* Application of Pyroban gas detection system
* Contribute to components design to be packaged on vehicles with extreme space constraint limitations
* Define enclosure layouts and population
* Conceive design solution to achieve optimal execution cost
* Design for testing
* Comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions including health and safety.
* Comply with and promote the Company's values and behaviours.
* Carry out other reasonable duties requested by management.

Essential Experience required:



* Proven experience in a similar role
* BOM generations
* Design of complex electrical systems
* Specification/sizing of electrical components
* Understanding of mechanical/electrical system integration
* Degree or HND in electrical, electronics, or automotive engineering
* Proficient in using AutoCAD Electrical
* CAN protocol
* Highly motivated/self-starter
* Ability to run multiple projects concurrently
* Team player with the ability to work in a diverse team of engineers
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

Desirable experience:



* Design of industrial vehicle electrical systems
* A broad knowledge of electrical and electronic control systems, for example industrial controllers, plc's, AC invertors
* Design of industrial vehicle electrical systems
* Experience of working in a highly regulated environment
* Exposure to CE marking and creation of technical construction files
* Knowledge of EMC related issues
* Background in fault finding complex electrical systems
* Hazardous area regulations knowledge
