Electrical Engineering Manager





Managed a team of electrical engineers in an industrial manufacturing environment?

We are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer who has been in charge managing a team who are responsible for;

- Fault finding

- Facilities maintenance

- PLC systems

Job Purpose

To assist the Engineering Manager to improve plant reliability by implementing essential 'Professional Maintenance' electrical standards for the plant and to deliver specific project improvements.

Health, Safety and Environment

* Achieve the highest safety standards by ensuring safety management systems are implemented for sub contractors
* Delivery of proactive safety systems, including safety audit, OTJRA, risk prevention audits, area inspections, auditing of contractors & permit-to- work systems Performance
* Work with engineering manager to develop and implement reliability improvement program (to include day to day activities and strategic actions)
* Development of long term electrical strategy for the plant
* To include capital replacement program, obsolescence management and personnel resourcing
* Direct management of major electrical capital investment projects
* To include support for the projects team during melter rebuild and other major CAPEX activities
* Ensure full compliance to electrical regulation
* Ensure all electrical breakdowns are resolved robustly and in a timely manner using Enhanced Work Order process
* Development of program to improve the quality and scope of electrical support documentation for the plant
* Part of the engineering team to deliver effective planning for down days, projects, etc
* Ensure WCM methodology is embedded and used as the key process in identifying and prioritising plant losses and initiating continuous improvement, delivering strategy deployment KPIs
* Deliver improvement projects to reduce downtime, control cost and improve plant availability and energy efficiency
* Training and development of electrical team to match current and future requirements
* Responsible for the energy system data capture, monitoring, analysis and reporting to fulfil CCA requirements
* Development of electrical department succession plan for electricians and apprentices
* Management of electrical supplier contracts. To include initial optimisation of contracts and actual management of the execution of the contracts.
* Be part of electrical call-out team


* Responsible for developing the above team through regular reviews
* Support deployment of Strategic Deployment
* Through appropriate management style, foster a culture of engagement, commitment and continuous improvement within the plant
* Manage employee relations issues up to the level identified in grievance and disciplinary procedures
* To provide electrical engineering expertise and guidance to electrical tradesmen both on shift and on days
* Generation of long range capital investment plans
* Review of personnel performance and objectives via the performance appraisal process

Qualifications Required

* Electrical Degree
* 17th edition IEE qualified
* IOSH safety certificate
* Radiation Awareness
