About Our Client
The RAF Benevolent Fund was established in 1919, and since then they have supporting the RAF family through challenging times. Based near Regents Park in the West end of London, this prestigious charity provide support and morale through well-being programmes, support for families, welfare breaks, financial assistance and advice and advocacy.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation.The team are looking for qualified financial accountant to join the financial accounting team. This will be a great opportunity for you to have real input into improving systems and processes and working closely with the financial accounting manager on delivering the statutory accounts for the fund.

Job Responsibilities:
*Maintain the accounting records for the charity and its subsidiaries
*Assist in preparing the annual statutory consolidated accounts
*Post transactions for the fund inter-company accounts on a monthly basis
*Maintain the fixed asset register for the main Fund and Housing Trust
*Prepare the fixed asset related journals
*Have a good understanding of all approved internal controls and proactively ensure that they are operating correctly in practice.
*Working on year end alongside line manager
*Maintain all payroll and payroll-related accounts
*Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations
*Identify any problems with the reconciliations on a monthly basis
*Record any investment transactions properly
*Prepare quarterly VAT returns for the main Fund and Trading company
*Act as administrator for the corporate credit cards and review process
*Partner with Payroll manager and checking monthly payroll and improving processes where possible
*Systematically monitor the financial ledgers for all income and expenditure, liaising with finance staff to clarify any 'out of the ordinary' movements in transactions

Preferred Skills:
*Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
*Experience of Charities SORP & FRS102
*At least 3 years experience of working with accounting software, Excel and Word - strong systems skills would be an advantage
*Experience of engagement with external auditors
*People management experience - you will have 1 direct report
