job description

Are you a motivated and aspiring professional, looking to become part of a vibrant and energetic department? Do you wish to join a highly committed group of students and staff at an Academy that offers excellent opportunities for career development? If the answer to these questions is yes, and you have an enthusiastic approach to teaching Geography with high professional standards, then this post is for you!

Randstad Education is a market leader in the field of education recruitment, and here at the Chelmsford office we are working on behalf of a larger than average secondary school in the Southend area. The school has made significant progress since the appointment of the present Head, and recent changes in sixth form leadership have resulted in significant improvements in outcomes.

The school is looking for a full time, permanent teacher of Geography. The post offers opportunities to teach throughout the age and ability ranges to responsive pupils. The ability to teach Geography up to and including Key Stage 5 is desirable although not essential. The position would suit an NQT and there are levels of responsibility available for the right candidate, including a potential Head of Department role.

The successful candidate will:

*be an outstanding and innovative classroom practitioner who can lead and enthuse students
*have a proven track record of impacting on student achievement and the development of the department
*have excellent organisational and communication skills, with an eye for detail
*exude a passion for learning and a driving ambition for every learner to progress
*have a sense of humour and the ability to keep a smile on your face at all times

The school can offer:

*excellent facilities including interactive white boards in every classroom
*a family ethos with dynamic and supportive staff
*a diverse learning cohort that appreciate the effort staff make for them, leading to rewarding outcomes
*a school with an aim to enhance the life chances and opportunities afforded to its young people
*the Investors in People award and National CPD Mark

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. They put students first ensuring achieving examination success is a priority. If you believe you have the skills and drive to help make a difference then we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us at Randstad Education Chelmsford, where we can discuss this and other exciting opportunities in the Education sector.
