This is an exciting opportunity for a personable and motivated finance professional to join a reputable organisation as Head of Finance.

You will be responsible for the preparation of management and annual accounts, business analysis and management report information - maintaining close links and a strong working relationship with department managers to ensure appropriate and timely provision of management information and close management of individual budgets.

This role will also be accountable for management of the annual audit process, and developing a working relationship with branch treasurers to enable preparation of management information on a worldwide basis.

Job Responsibilities:

*Managing a team of 5 responsible for all finance matters including payroll and maintenance of the member database
*To provide an accurate and timely financial service including setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, management and financial accounts and advice and support to inform decision making at all levels
*To ensure that the Director General and Director of Finance are appraised of key financial issues that need to be discussed with the Board of Trustees to enable them to fully understand the financial position of the charity
*To maintain finance policies and procedures and ensure that these are being consistently followed -including customer and supplier contracts, purchase orders, credit control, and ensuring timely invoicing by suppliers
*To ensure that budgets and management accounts accurately reflect the business activity, that accruals and other adjustments are being made correctly, that variances from budget and other issues are investigated and resolved

Preferred Skills:

*A qualified chartered accountant, either with ICAEW, ICAS, ACCA or CIMA.
*Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
*Significant experience in accounts production and management reporting to directors and board.
*First-class oral and written communication skills with close attention to detail.
*Proven success at managing a team, being able to plan and manage workloads and maintain team performance standard
*Ability to prioritise competing and complex demands.
*Recent experience of developing and maintaining constructive, effective and flexible
working relationships internally and externally.
*Highly motivated, with the personal gravitas to establish relationships of confidence and trust with the most senior colleagues and stakeholders
*Strong experience of use of financial systems (SAP B1 desirable) and ability to perform research, analysis and financial modelling.
*Strong understanding of the need for discretion and judgement in handling sensitive information.
*Experience of dealing with group/branch structures, member organisation and volunteers and the politics that entails desirable
