HR Business Partner

An exciting opportunity to work within a HR Function at a large pharmaceuticals company.

Location: Maidenhead

Contract: 6 months

Pay rate: competitive

Job Description

To manage the HR relationship within the Affiliate and the Maidenhead site, to challenge, support and add value to the business in pursuit of their objectives and the overall Business goals.

* To create HR plans that drive optimal business performance in terms of Change Management, Talent Management, Organisational Design, Resourcing, Performance Management and Leadership Capability and ensure these are in line with HR polices and standards.
* Counsel managers on their day-to-day activities (organisation, succession planning, training, employee development, rewards management, performance management etc.) and benchmark those practices both locally and within Biogen Idec.
* Ensure proper organisation and execution of HR operational activities contracts, relationships to payroll, declarations, address employees' questions, Biogen Idec policies implementations (including compensation & benefits), employee relations etc.)
* People Planning - Work operationally with managers to identify and implement people plan, ensuring that the right people are in the right roles so they can perform to the best of their ability. - Work proactively with managers to retain and develop the best people through succession and resource plans.
* Performance Management - Promote positive performance management within the business areas.
* At all levels drive improvement in capability - Ensure retention of the best people by working with managers to create a positive working culture and environment which improves team and individual engagement. - Work with the Management team to develop internal careers and future talent within the business area - Putting in place development plans and retention strategies to retain talent within the organisation
* Culture and Values - Support the employee engagement survey and works with line managers to formulate and implement action plans for improvement -
* Challenge and influence current ways of working to drive a positive change and leads improvements across business areas HR policy and compliance -
* Work with line managers to develop their capability and understanding to deal effectively with employee relations issues.
* Manage complex HR cases within the business area with the aim to minimize risk and exposure -
* Coach and advise where appropriate, line managers on HR policies and processes, identifying practical solutions to employee issues that reflect BIIB values, whilst adhering to employment legislation - Review relevance, accuracy and application of HR policies and processes
* Compensation/Reward - Applies reward policies across business area/UK site to ensure transparency and improve understanding of total reward and benefits package
* Systems and management information - Ensures 100% accuracy of all HR data - To own and drive HR projects where appropriate

Knowledge / Skills - Generalist HR expertise. - Ability to build and manage relationships successfully, at all levels. - Ability to earn trust and credibility. - Of Graduate Calibre, CIPD qualified.
