The Role



* Day to day care of children in a nursery setting
* Looking after babies and children to ensure they are content, safe and fed
* Usually responsible for a group of children
* Teamwork and working alongside other Nursery Nurses to achieve a common goal
* Hands-on work with young children including teaching hygiene skills, help with toileting and nappy changing
* Assisting with all aspects of a child's personal development
* Reading to children and creating fun activities to keep them engaged
* Cooking, preparing and feeding children
* Providing comfort and reassurance
* Being patient, fun, understanding, organised and creative
* Solely responsible for the care of someone else's child, so should be committed to their development
* Monitoring children's progress closely and reporting any sensitive issues
* Liaising with parents to report on their child's development

Skills



* Good knowledge of EYFS
* Minimum of 6 months experience in a childcare setting
* NNEB or CACHE Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualification
* An enthusiastic attitude towards working with children
* Patient, fun and caring attitude
