Private Sector Enforcement & Regulation Team Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Private Sector Enforcement & Regulation Team Manager based in a Local Authority in South London.

Post: Private Sector Enforcement & Regulation Team Manager

Rate: £31- £32 per hour


The main duties of the role are as followings;

* To represent the Council under relevant Environmental Health and other legislation, to prevent infringements, including the drawing up and service of Statutory Notices and other actions which may have a profound
* To deal with complex cases personally, where it is necessary to ensure that sensitive or contentious cases are correctly dealt with and these have been escalated by EHOs.
* To assist with the establishment and maintenance of detailed financial control procedures governing all expenditure or income and exercise vigilance and awareness to prevent fraudulent activities in line with Council financial regulations.
* To represent and promote the Council's interests as they relate to Environmental Health, amongst other agencies and organisations etc, and to promote good relationships and joint working initiatives to achieve Council's objectives.


* Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers' Registration Board or equivalent and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health or equivalent.
* MSc/BSc in Environmental Health or a Diploma in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (or historical equivalent) or equivalent recognised qualification.
* Fully qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer, with experience of working within a local authority Environmental Health/Private Sector Housing Service.
* Knowledge of developments in outside agencies and of the sociological, demographic and geographical demands and constraints of inner city Boroughs
