Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Programme Buyer to work for a leading car manufacturer based in Milton Keynes.

Are you looking for a new position as Programme Buyer? Do you want to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment? If the answer is yes, this role is for you!

The Programme Buyer will provide the co-ordination, metrics and control for aspects of Purchasing in support of new vehicle special programmes, ensuring compliance with Purchasing strategy and Programme milestones.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:



* Coordination of purchasing activity for minor program activity ensuring all milestones requirements are met
* Maintain, distribute and ensure supervision of Programme metrics to deliver purchasing deliverables as required.
* Analyse , track and report programme cost data , identifying risk and opportunities
* Support in managing supplier performance through new vehicle launch phases ensuring that Quality, Cost and Delivery performance is maintained at high levels.
* Provide purchasing / commercial input into cross-functional teams that effectively contributes to the organisation's programme goals by applying a confident approach to teamwork.
* Liaise with external Suppliers and internal functional areas and provide assistance where required to ensure that parts are available to support prototype and pre-production build phases.
* In conjunction with Buyers and external Suppliers, provide support to Finance with respect to the target setting process and ongoing adherence to an Affordable Business Structure.

Qualification & Experience:



* In addition the Programme Buyer is expected to have commercial, analytical and interpersonal skills as they solve problems in areas where they have no supervisory influence.
* Ideally the successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, a full member of CIPS or at least working towards it.
* Purchasing experience ideally within a manufacturing environment is required; however, of greater importance is the individual's aptitude and commitment to rapidly assimilate the needs of the role and to be quickly performing in the role, to a high standard.
